Is Your Health Insurance Agent LyingWhy You Ought Not Always Trust Your Health Insurance Agent

You know the feeling when you look at your monthly health statement, and cringe when the rates go up every year. You call your agent and ask him/her to shop around for better coverage at lower rates. They call several days later and tell you that they cannot find a better rate and plan than what you have now.

You question them several times and they again tell you that there’s no better rates out there than what you have. You have worked with with this agent for a lot of years and you trust their judgment.

That scenario is what I came across several weeks ago with one business in Winston Salem,NC. The owner of the business was actually looking for individual insurance for him and his employees. I obtain Winston Salem health insurance leads form and online vendor and came in contact with this individual via e-mail and then phone.

He currently had group coverage with the same insurer for ten years, and he was told by his rep that he cannot get better coverage and rates. He believed him and was desperate to find something maybe on an individual bases for him and his staff members that would be more cost effective.

They had various medical conditions after talking with him, and I explained that individual coverage was out of the question. I told him group coverage was an option but he stated that they have already looked into getting lower rates but their broker told them it was not possible.

I asked him how long they had been with their current carrier and what there monthly rates were. When he told me rates and that they had only four families on the plan, I knew something was not right.

After getting all my ducks lined up and meeting with them, I was not only able to save them $400 a month, but added two families and also was able to get them dental and vision. Will this happen this way all the time, no. But it does demonstrate that you cannot always trust your agent and getting several proposals from other agents is wise and will save you thousands of dollars.

Having a  that cares about you and wants the best for you is extremely critical in this age of rising health expenses.
